My name is Tracy. I am so excited for the chance to be working with you. Here is a little background on my musical training and experience. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 12 from Karen Hudson, (a highly respected piano teacher in San Antonio), using the Suzuki Piano Method (an advanced Japanese curriculum). Although I started a little later than the average student, I discovered right away that I had a great love and passion for the instrument. I joined my church praise and worship team when I was 15 and have been playing on praise and worship teams ever since. I have worked with beginners all the way to professional musicians and band leaders and have attended several music conferences (including Hillsong Conference in Sydney, Australia.) My senior year of high school I studied under renowned Russian Concert Pianist Anya Grockovski at the San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity. From there I studied with Elizabeth Gutierrez as a music student at University of Texas at San Antonio, and then received my bachelors of arts in Music Marketing. Throughout High School and College I performed in numerous recitals and local competitions. While attending UTSA, I was the band leader for the UTSA Campus Crusade for Christ Praise and Worship team for 2 years. During my music studies at UTSA, I was trained in classical music performance, history, theory and Jazz performance. I have been teaching since the age of 15. I love teaching piano and music theory to students of all ages! I have taught private lessons and group lessons with students ranging from 3 to senior citizens. I have also been a certified Music Together teacher since 2011 (a music program for kids aged birth-5). *** Lesson Details *** Classical music and Music Theory are the main part of the curriculum I use to teach. I use different types of curriculum including the Music Tree, Alfred Methods, etc... based on students skill level and preferences.I do teach the Suzuki Method to older children and/or adults if it is a good match for the student. I like to give students a well rounded repertoire so upon request, I teach contemporary music as well, this usually includes Disney, Pop, Christmas, Praise and Worship songs and anything else students want to learn. I try to make sure my students are enjoying what they are learning and having fun while expanding their musical knowledge and becoming a more proficient musician. *** Studio Equipment *** There is an electric piano set up in a designated music room with a sitting area for parents *** Specialties *** I was instructed in the Suzuki Piano Method until I graduated high school. I used Suzuki exclusively for the first several years. Since 2002 I have also added Alfred's, Faber & Faber and other curriculum to match each students individual needs.

Piano Great teacher! She is very encouraging and works well with my daughter. I believe with her music lessons, my daughter has gained confidence not only in piano but in her education.

great teacher for children My daughter has made such great progress with Tracy. She is a great teacher who is positive and encouraging. Well worth the drive. My daughter is only six years old and with only a handful a lessons she has learned many songs and a good foundation of music theory. I highly recommend Tracy for young students.

My 5 year old son had never taken piano lessons before but he has been drawn to Tracy and her teaching style like a moth to a light. She does an excellent job at keeping his wiggly body and active mind focused and engaged. It's amazing how much he retains from his lessons. Tracy also matched a lesson plan perfectly to his learning style - he's having fun and probably doesn't even realize how much he's learning. Music is such an important part of a child's education, and we are so glad to have found Tracy.
