“Jazz is Folk Music from the future” once said pianist Joe Zawinul, when asked to describe what Jazz is.
For guitar player and composer Tommaso G., who is now finishing up his studies in Film Scoring and Performance at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, trying to understand the essence of Jazz has been a musical quest since he first heard the music of Charlie Parker.
At only 22 years old, Tommaso has already toured and performed internationally in Europe, USA, Canada and South America, sharing the stage with such musicians as his mentor Danilo Perez, saxophonists George Garzone, Miguel Zenon and Joe Lovano and Grammy Award-winning drummer Terri Lyne Carrington.
Tommaso is part of the Berklee’s highly selective Global Jazz Institute, where he has studied with John Patitucci, David Liebman and Ben Street.
