Hello! I teach piano, bass, and guitar and enjoy teaching the following styles: rock, funk, blues, pop, R&B. I have played keys with an American Idol finalist and bass with a founding member of My Morning Jacket. I have also performed in jazz orchestras and combos (though jazz isn't my first choice to play and teach). 

My favorite things to teach, and how I can help you achieve your musical goals, are using the songs you love to teach technique and the feel of a song; accompanying you on a different instrument to help with improvisation and building experience with onstage communication; and using technology to augment our lessons. 

What does that mean?

It means I like to use different apps to help you learn the solo you hear in the song (not the one that is misprinted in all the sheet music you see). It also means using authentic or near-authentic tracks to help you jam in our lessons or on your own. 

I am happy to work with all ages of learners (6 and older). I have a doctorate in education and almost 2 decades of experience teaching.
