Sifu Tom - recently inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame - knows how to get the best out of his students while balancing how the art of Traditional Kung Fu is applicable in real life situations and to understanding the foundation of Kung Fu. Sifu Tom helped supercharge my development. I am doing private classes with him and doing a ton of practice at home. He has a no nonsense, no Martial Art stigma approach to teaching and speaks to you in a way that makes it easier to understand and take in. His unique prospective and multi-application view of even the simplest of movements opens up doors for me and the way I look at movements. Finally someone who teaches for the love of the Arts and not to keep you there to line his pockets like some schools will do.

Sifu Tom has been my instructor, mentor, and friend for the better part of decade now. My friend Freedom and I were looking to learn martial arts and as we looked around our area we couldn't find anyone to meet our qualifications of what a good teacher is. That is until we found our now teacher Tom McCusker, he had a school on main street in Nyack and we had tried a free class he was offering for new comers. I can say without a doubt after that class we came to the decision to start learning under Tom, he was understanding, informative, committed, easy to talk too, and helped in anyway he could for us. By far he is one of the best mentors I've had, its been a little over a year since that first class and I couldn't be happier with the choice I made to learn under him. I'm grateful for his teachings and would consider him to be a teacher worth learning under.

I highly recommend CMAEC. My daughter has been a student of Sifu Tom for 10yrs. He is a wonderful instructor. She not only learns self defense and discipline, her self esteem is high and she really enjoys her classes. Sufi Tom makes fitness fun and the children  learn more than just martial arts.

Tom has an easy going nature and a love for his art of Kung fu, self defense, etc. He will work you hard and you will sweat but the experience and discipline you get out of it, is your great reward. His knowledge about all varieties of Kung Fu history is limitless. Professional and casual attitude towards children and adults alike. Highly recommended.

Sifu Tom works very well with all of the kids at all levels of KungFu. He has built confidence in my child as well as taught him humbleness and to keep trying and practicing. The classes have a very strong team atmosphere.
