Piano with Tom K.

I just retired from teaching middle school choir, piano, and guitar at a Los Angeles public school. I have played in bands all my life and still play and sing professionally at night clubs, country clubs, weddings, and other events. I am a staff worship leader at a church. I began teaching jazz and pop piano in the 1980s at the Harry Fields School of Music in Hollywood. I customize my teaching to the interests of the student rather than work out of method books. I like to include music theory in my teaching as it gives a performer more knowledge of what they are playing and they can memorize music, play by ear, and improvise much quicker.
