Hi! I'm a full-time music teacher (guitar, bass and ukulele) who's been teaching 50+ weekly students for over 12 years! I am very easy-going and do my best to make lessons fun for all of my students. I have been playing in performing (not garage) bands for over 25 years and have an actual AA degree in music from Sierra College! I am versed in songs from classic rock up up through today and am always trying to be on the cutting edge of teaching, using my iPad, Youtube and the Amazing Slow Downer app with almost all of my students. No books to buy--I write out your lesson on my tablet and send it to your e-mail to practice! Feel free to hit me up with any questions.

Todd was my son’s bass guitar teacher for two years when he transitioned from classical bass. Todd was a great teacher and mentor and be made a bit difference in my son’s life. I highly recommend Todd to anyone who is looking for an experienced, kind and happy person to learn music from.

Both my sons have taken lessons from Todd for over a year.  They love going to lessons and look forward to it throughout the week.  I have been impressed at how quickly they have learned to play actual songs.  Todd teaches reading TAB, and also music reading.  He is very kind and patient.  He always lets us know about schedule changes ahead of time and is especially accommodating if we need to change our schedules.

I was part of a Beginner Guitar group lesson with Todd.  In that class, he managed to give us all personal attention.  Since then, I've had a weekly lesson for years and he's always had me progressing at my own rate.  I like how we spend our time with a quick review of whatever it is I've been learning before we move on to something new.  It's amazing how much we pack into a lesson.  Todd is always very flexible with whatever I want to learn so we can take detours into favorite songs or artists (and we even added a bit of harmonica at my request).  Even if I pick a difficult piece he can adapt it to my skill level (and then add the complexity as I progress).  And through it all, he has shown endless good humor and patience.

Excellent teacher that shares his love of music with kids through his enthusiasm.  In my opinion this is just as, if not more, important as technique!  My 11yr old daughter said "That was the BEST lesson ever!" after her first lesson. Thank you Todd!

My son studied acoustic and electric guitar with Todd for about three years.  Todd was great about making sure that my son had good basic instruction, but also took his interests into account with a variety of musical styles.   Studying with Todd has set my son up for a long-term interest in string instruments!
