Thanks for checking out my profile. I am a freelance musician, working as a composer/producer and private music teacher. I started out as a church drummer at the age of 13. At the age of 16 I picked up the bass guitar playing with a local band. From there I picked up guitar and keys. I ended up playing organ for my church and playing keys and writing songs for a local artist. From there I moved to Northern VA in the early 90's and made a name for myself as a bass player. Now I am playing bass for an old school R&B band, and for my church. I play jazz standards (chord melody) for wine tasting events in my area, and play keys with my wife on Saturday afternoons at the local senior homes. I also play upright bass. I have been teaching guitar, keys, and bass for about 3 years. I love music, and I can't wait to get started teaching you! *** Lesson Details *** Most people think that you have to be a musical genius to be able to listen to a song and instantly start playing it. I can show you how you can play by ear as well! You will learn how to make association with what you here and what you play on your instrument. You will have the ability to play songs with the radio. You will have the ability to express the music in your head. You will gain understanding of how music works. All ages are welcome. *** Travel Equipment *** I have everything in my studio at home. I expect student to have a instrument for practice. *** Specialties *** There are no genres that I specialize in. I normally have my students choose a song and from there I'll teach them the theory behind chord progressions and song writing.
