    About Tito G.

Music is a very important part of my life, and one of my goals as a musician is to be involved in all different aspects of music. That is why I am active both as a student, performer, and teacher. I prefer to live my life learning and in turn sharing what I have learned to other musical enthusiasts. My experiences in music vary in terms of genre and concentration. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Vocal Performance and an Advanced Certificate in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. My experiences in classical performance include performing in three Operas to date; Strauss' "Die Fledermaus" (Alfred) , Mozart's "Le Nozze Di Figaro" (Basilio / Curzio), and very recently, Mozart's "The Magic Flute" (Monostatos). Being an active performer gives me great perspective which I intern bring to my lessons and share with my students. As well as being a classical performer, I am also the lead singer and musician in a traditional Dominican Merengue band. I have been performing in this aspect for the past 15 years all over the NYC area. Performing in this up-beat Latin music genre is in itself a complete world away from classical performance. My experiences as a Merengue performer has shown me how to be a musician in an environment completely different from the classical music platform; the city club scene. As you can see, my experiences on both the classical stage and in the club / lounge scene, have allowed me to build up a musical "tool box" of experiences that will enhance my quality of teaching. My music students will be exposed to the knowledge that I have gained from my experiences as a student and performer.
