Teaching since:

Although you probably won't recognize the name of the small Bible College from which I received my degrees, I can assure you I received a well rounded education in both music and education. I began learning piano at about 8 years old, and for the past 10 years I have taken lessons from a master teacher, who understands not only the ins and outs of the technical side of playing the piano, but also what it takes to develop the musicality of a student. My voice teachers and choir directors have also had an excellent balance of technical skill and musical sense. I have taken a number of classes both in general education, and specifically on piano and choral pedagogy, as well as all the standard music classes such as music history and music theory. I am therefore prepared to adapt to the individual needs of most beginner and intermediate students desiring to pursue a further knowledge in music.

Everyone has unique needs and desires regarding an education in music. That is why I teach each student individually to help them achieve their goals. Just because I don't have a set methodology, however, doesn't mean that I teach chaotically. I balance the need for order and discipline with freedom of musical expression.

Timothy has been my vocal coach for more than 2 months. In that time Timothy has helped me with everything from posture to vowel sounds. He has introduced me to telling the story and is always on top of pitch and timing. I will continue taking lessons from Timothy because I am learning so much and really feel good about my singing progress.
