Although you probably won't recognize the name of the small Bible College from which I received my degrees, I can assure you I received a well rounded education in both music and education. I began learning piano at about 8 years old, and for the past 10 years I have taken lessons from a master teacher, who understands not only the ins and outs of the technical side of playing the piano, but also what it takes to develop the musicality of a student. My voice teachers and choir directors have also had an excellent balance of technical skill and musical sense. I have taken a number of classes both in general education, and specifically on piano and choral pedagogy, as well as all the standard music classes such as music history and music theory. I am therefore prepared to adapt to the individual needs of most beginner and intermediate students desiring to pursue a further knowledge in music.
I have now been teaching lessons for well over a year, and I have been able to help a variety of students from a three year old girl to a gentleman in his sixties. I have also been teaching an autistic child for nearly a year, and we have made tremendous progress together.
Everyone has unique needs and desires regarding an education in music. That is why I teach each student individually to help them achieve their goals. Just because I don't have a set methodology, however, doesn't mean that I teach chaotically. I balance the need for order and discipline with freedom of musical expression.
He was patient with my daughter. I think this will work out well.
Based on my initial experience, he was easygoing and forward with his method of instruction. Generally a good first impression.
Tim is a patient and knowledgeable teacher. Even as an adult student, his encouragement has strengthened my commitment to stay on the path. You can count me as a very happy student of his.
Timothy is a great teacher. He is patient and soft spoken. My 9th grade son has been taking lessons from him for about one year. Recently he helped my son perfect a difficult music piece for a competition. My son scored in the top tier of all competitors. Overall I am pleased with Tim's teaching. He arrives on time and conducts a well organized lesson.+ Read More
Timothy is absolutely a great piano instructor, he is extremely patient with my 7 years old. Both of my children have good progress. Thank you Tim.
Mr. Tim did a great job. A fantastic blend of instruction and allowing student discovery. My son went from struggling to focus for a 30 minute lesson with his previous teacher to engaged focus for an entire hour with Mr. Tim.
Timothy is a great piano teacher for my kids. They have enjoyed learning the piano lessons and have made a good progress over a period of time. He is very friendly, flexible and patient with the kids. One of them is in special needs. It is very hard to find a teacher like him to teach my special son. He has helped him improve not only the music skill but also the social skills. Thank you very much.+ Read More
Tim is an excellent teacher! I've always been nervous and shaky when it comes to singing, and could never get the timing down on songs, but he gave me advice on performance and several breathing and pitch exercises that helped tremendously. I have really improved my range, and my choir director can see the difference in my confidence and sight reading ability. It's a great feeling, and the lessons have helped me truly enjoy singing!+ Read More
So far so good withTimothy
Great first lesson! My son was so excited!
My 10 year old son has learned piano for 4 years, and he really enjoyed the lessons he took from Tim. Tim is very gentle and kind to a young student, and he knows how to encourage kids to practice piano on daily basis.
Very patient with my first time student.
Timothy was a patient and good teacher. My son loved him. He has a great curriculum plan. We just followed it and made progress in a few months.
Timothy has been my vocal coach for more than 2 months. In that time Timothy has helped me with everything from posture to vowel sounds. He has introduced me to telling the story and is always on top of pitch and timing. I will continue taking lessons from Timothy because I am learning so much and really feel good about my singing progress.+ Read More
