I am a Senior at Pacific Lutheran University, in the Music Education program. I have been playing for over 10 years and have performed as a member of PLU's Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Pan Ensemble, and Men's Choir.  Currently, I am performing with the Tacoma Concert Band as well as student teaching at Fairview Middle School in Bremerton, WA.

My hopes in creating these page are to find students, nearing or currently in the middle school age range, who want to learn the basics of percussion playing, timpani, marimba, and snare technique, as well as reading/theory, and instrument maintenance.

Timothy H. is a Band and Orchestra Teacher in the Central Kitsap School District. He is originally from Grants Pass, Oregon, but spent his middle and high school years in Bremerton, Washington. He now lives in Bonney Lake. His main goal is to share his love of music with students and teach them the skills they need to be successful in solo work and ensembles. He is dedicated to the education of music, and is looking to cultivate a lifelong love of music in his students.

Cooper is enjoying drum lessons with Timothy.  He is very good at keeping Cooper focused and attending to the lesson. He is teaching Cooper to read drum music as well as play, which is great for Cooper as he has a good ear for music; but needs help slowing down and focusing to read the music. Timothy is great about mixing reading and playing the lesson and letting Cooper ad-lib. Thanks Timothy.

My son has taken several lessons with Timothy and he has enjoyed them. Timothy has a gentle, but firm way of guiding Cooper to complete the more challenging aspects of the lesson. He has a good sense of how much, when and for how long to push Cooper. Blends teaching techniques well.

My son is learning a lot and can't wait to go back each week. Thanks Tim!

I have not observed Tim while he is teaching, however, I've known him for three years as he's been in our scholarship program.  He is dedicated and motivated;I think he will be an excellent role model for children.  I am delighted he's chosen teaching as his profession, as I think it's a very good fit for him.

Timothy is a great teacher. He has the patience to work with those who may be struggling and bring them up to standards.  With his years of percussion experience to share and his continued learning of the art he is an inspiration to all. I would highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys music and would like to learn.

I have worked with Tim for a few years now, and he has always been a pleasure to work with and be around. He is very laid back and not intimidating at all, and he also knows how to get what needs to be done, done. Although he is new to the teaching scene, I am positive he will be wonderful. I would send students to him in a heartbeat.

Tim is very talented and I would recommend him to anyone!
