I am a Hartt School of Music trained classical guitarist raised on the electric guitar. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have helped students of all ages achieve their musical goals. Whether it's getting into the school jazz band, a college degree program or simply playing for friends, I can help you get there. My studio is a spacious and equipped learning environment designed with the guitarist in mind.

I have been a student of Tim’s for a little over a year now. I started playing guitar at age 52 and when I started with Tim I was very close to giving up or settling on just being able to strum a few chords. I have had many hand injuries in the past that have resulted in arthritis and lack of dexterity in my wrists and some of my fingers and I started doubting I would ever be able to progress in my ability to play. From the very first lesson where I told Tim about my hand issues and my frustrations, he told me he was sure we could work around any physical limitations I had, and he was right. Tim has been able to work with me on alternative ways to play the chords I was having trouble with and has shown me that these alternate techniques along with the bit of music theory he sprinkles into lessons can really expand my ability to play.
In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.
Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.

Tim is an excellent guitar teacher and an overall great guy. He provided me with structure and support, enabling me to make the most out of my practice and ultimately progress as a player. His warm personality and contagious enthusiasm for music kept me looking forward to our time together each week. He was also very flexible when it came to scheduling to accommodate for my dynamic schedule.

Heading into my first class with Tim, I had almost no musical experience (at least for the last 15+ years). In a very casual way, he was able to get a sense of where I was and where he should start with my instruction.
I was very reluctant to take lessons at first, but my wife got me started with Tim and it was really worth it. He was accommodating to my relatively slow speed of learning and easily adapted to my own musical preferences and interests.
His studio is a great space and is located within a really cool, historic building. The sound is fantastic and it's a comfortable space to practice in.
I highly recommend Tim for lessons - especially for adults who may not be able to dedicate hours a day to practicing. I took lessons weekly for three months and I got a great foundation for practicing. Once my life settles down a little, I definitely hope to go back.

Tim has an excellent vocabulary of music knowledge. Patient and willing to listen and answer questions. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a solid foundation to improve on any style of guitar playing.

Tim came recommended from a friend. I had been playing guitar and bass for close to 20 years, without ever taking a single lesson. I'd been focusing on bass for the last 10 years, and decided that I wanted to take my bass playing to the next level - theory, reading music, etc.
Fast forward a year later, and I'm reading and learning music not only from sheet music, but from jazz charts - something I hadn't even imagined going in. I've gained a new appreciation for the music as a result.
Everyone that knows me well has commented on the improvement in my overall bass playing, from the wife to people who I've spent years jamming with. In short, if you're looking to expand your abilities, you can't go wrong with Tim.
