Hello! My name is Tia. I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching piano since about 2014 and I love to see my student's dreams come true! An elderly lady just wanted to play some hymns for her friends under her care, a missionary needed to help lead worship at their growing church, an epileptic just loved life and wanted to have fun playing music, a worship leader wanted to fine tune her skills and play for more professional worship teams. I've played piano for many different churches, events, and performances for over 15 years. Took 3 years of some advanced classical piano (from Russian piano teachers too! That was so fun). My favorite performance was a duet with a Cellist playing a song called "Kol-Nidre." I'm not an ordinary piano teacher. I like to catch the students who don't know where else to turn--whether for lack of time, lack of money, lack of discipline, lack of talent, you name it. I listen to their sad story about how they'll never be able to realize their dreams, crack my fingers, and say "Okay, so when are you free?" The next step: What is your dream? Is it to put a smile on your grandma's face, playing all her favorite hymns? Is it to enrich your personal life and just have fun? Is it to perform music for a career or write songs? It is to play on your worship team at church? No matter what your dream, I will give you all the tools you will need to make that dream a reality! I love to make each piano lesson personalized for your learning style, interests, and goals. I love teaching so much! I love the surprise on my student's face when they realize that they CAN indeed reach their goal. I love watching their creativity come alive. I love giving them another language and voice to express themselves to the world through the miracle of music. I can't wait to see that smile on your face! Let's do this ;)
