    About Thomas S.

I am an active composer, sound artist, audio engineer, and performer currently living and working in Los Angeles. I have been studying music for over 18 years in programs including the California Institute of the Arts, Rice University, the Amercian Conservatory in Fountainebleau, and the American Festival for the Arts. As a composer and musician, I have worked with incredible organizations and performers including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the wulf., Coaxial Arts, Art Share, M.A.R.S. Festival, and The Little Giant Chinese Instrument Orchestra. In my own work I work primarily in contemporary classical music, experimental music, sound art, and electronic music. I am experienced, however, with working with musicians with a wide range of interests which I work into my lessons. As a music educator, I am passionate about providing students with a well-rounded curriculum that focuses on combing music theory, music technology, composition, and musicianship. In order to excel in music, it is instrumental that young musicians prepare themselves for the diverse amount of projects, collaborations, and jobs that are available. I am dedicated to using my experience in a wide variety of creative fields to help young musicians prepare for their careers. https://www.thomasbsturm.com/
