Acoustic Guitar with Thomas J.

I teach 1-on-1 guitar lessons to all ages, primarily focused on beginner and intermediate levels. Everything from guitar basics, basic music theory, chords, note improvisation to learning full songs (of the student’s choice). I fully believe in learning through playing with others and training one’s ear to be able to recognize notes/chords/styles. My lessons will be tailored to what the student is interested in learning, along with some recommendations from myself in being able to grow as a guitar player. I am a guitarist of 17 years (with formal training) having played acoustic, electric, rhythm, lead, and bass. In addition, I have acquired 6 years of piano lessons, prior to my beginnings as a guitar player. I received formal music theory training in high school and as an undergraduate at the University of Delaware. I have performed in many groups and bands all across Delaware and Pennsylvania playing rock and roll, folk, singer-songwriter, pop, and more. I am still active in performing with my current cover band, EBC in playing around the Delaware area. Music is a huge part of my life, having learning and played guitar with some great musicians, as well as, studied music at the University of Delaware in a variety of forms.
