Beginning students can expect to learn piece movement, game rules, point value, notation, opening theory, pawn structure, en passant, check v. Checkmate v. Stalemate, pawn promotion, castling, and more. Intermediate students can expect to quickly refresh on all the above as well as learn techniques like pins, forks, skewers, discovered check, double threat, advanced openings, end game theory, tournament prep, and so much more.

"Good things come to those who know chess." -Thomas H. A bit about myself, I started playing chess at the age of 9 and have been playing ever since. I have been apart of several championship teams, and I have achieved many individual honors as well. I currently play chess professionally, teach (k-8) afterschool lessons for Chess Wizards, head instruction for the youth/adult program Rebuild Knights, and I am a member of team Illinois. Best chess teacher ever that I ever had seen in my life and he is the best person that I ever have seen play chess in my entire life and I want to see my chess teacher and my dad have a great chess battle I’m going to be able to get to watch them I hope at least if they let me and if they get a chance to meet each other I wonder who will win I think you’re going to win Mr. Thomas anyway bye.

As a Chess Wizard's Chess Instructor I provide a fun, safe elective learning program typically held after-school at various locations. ages typically range from pre K to 5th grade and class sizes up to 20 children per instructor for veteran instructors. (10 to 1 is normal ratio). I have fingerprint and FBI background clearance to work in CPS, Catholic, Charter, Montessori, and Private schools. as the IL manager, I mainly assist the instructors with chess knowledge and child safety tips.
