I am a professional touring and recording drummer. I graduated from West Milford High School then spent 2 years at the Drum-tech School of Music in London.
Drum students can expect to have fun first and foremost! You can expect to improve week to week in basic rudimentary knowledge, terms and technique. Most drummers hate rudiments! Depending on their teacher...they are boring and challenging to learn (but that's where all those great chops you want to learn come from!) I teach students to relax, not stress and understand that drumming and learning is a journey. It takes time to unlock their own individual sound and style on the drums and play with confidence, dynamics and expression.
I have been drumming for 27 years and depending on the goals and preference of the student, I can teach students various things like: Learning how to play drums, how to read music, play their favorite song, improve bass drum speed, learn poly-rhythms, how to tune drums properly, proper playing technique, how to avoid injury your hands and improve your grip while playing etc etc.
As a professional drummer I frequently take trips to Nashville for performances, recording and meetings. In my experience so far, I have played with well-known artists like RONIN, Paramore, Florida Georgia Line, Godsmack, Buckcherry, Incubus, Eli Young Band, Trapt, Saving Abel and more. I have even written and co-written various songs for artists as well.
My personal passion is Hard Rock, Metal, Pop and Country but I firmly believe that great technique and basics of drumming are essential to any and every style you play. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to accomplish your goals of become a better musician!
