My main focus as a teacher is to teach you how to play what you want. While I have extensive experience in the more traditional methods and will use them as needed, I am not opposed to showing students how to play their favorite songs right away. That's how I first learned to play music as a youngster, and it's carried me all the way into a career as a professional musician.

I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with 10+ years experience in the music industry. My understanding of music is based on a combination of self-teaching and academia. I have a Master's in Fine Arts from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Georgia, but I always take joy in the process of learning by experimentation and typically teach in a very open style. I want you to enjoy the music you play, and learn the music you like to listen to.

Thomas is really good at teaching towards your goals. My goals deal more with music composition and theory rather than performing so we’ve been working at a great pace. Thomas is very knowledgeable about music and it’s always pleasant talking about music with him.
