I am an experienced tutor with 4 years of experience tutoring at the college and elementary school levels. I have mostly tutored in ASL (sign language) and various areas in psychology. I love being able to share my knowledge through tutoring. I have a BA in psychology, and a lifetime of using ASL at home. I use this experience to help students learn in ways that work well with their particular learning styles. For this reason, I like to teach students small lessons, then ask them questions. This tests memory and understanding, while also allowing for connection, repartee, and flexibility.

About Theresa K.

I am an experienced tutor, having tutored in 6 subjects over the course of 3 years through a peer tutoring program at my college. Further, I have tutored 4 students online through another platform in ASL. I am a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and ASL was my first language, followed closely by English, and I have a BA in Cognitive Developmental Psychology. I have loved watching students progress and learning new techniques to help individual students, since everyone I have taught seemed to learn best though different routes. I talked some students through difficult concepts, while coming up with fun games and quizzes for others. I so appreciated having the opportunity to help those students, and now that I've graduated, I would like to continue that work through this platform. I also grew up with nine siblings, eight of whom were younger than me. I helped them with their schoolwork every day, and I miss doing so. My child care skills were honed throughout my entire life, but I haven't been able to see my siblings much over the past few years, while I've been in school. For that reason, I would love to work with either adults or children.

She was very knowledgeable and easy to tutor with. We plan to continue with tutoring and know that my daughter will have a wonderful experience with her. Obviously, she is very experienced.
