I have taught instrumental music in New York State public schools for the past 18 years. I have experience teaching general music, music appreciation and music theory to students in grades K-12 and in school band programs for students in grades 4-12 and teaching private music lessons in a local studio and within my own home to students ages 9-60 on a variety of instruments.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Music (performance on flute & piccolo) from Hartwick College and a Master of Science in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology from SUNY Albany. In addition to my public education experience, I have performed in numerous pit orchestras for musical productions in my area.
My passion is helping others continue their life long love of music and achieve their goals on their instrument of choice. I utilize a variety of literature, both classical and contemporary, and techniques in order to meet the needs of each individual student in an effort to customize their learning experience. I hope you will give me the chance to work with you on your musical journey!
