My name is Theodore and I am a classical guitarist. I began studying music as a pop/rock guitarist in my teen years and eventually pursued the music field in college. Transferring from Sinclair Community College to Wright State University as an undergraduate I majored in music history and literature. *** Lesson Details *** The frontier of learning never ends. I want my students to enjoy the process of setting and achieving (musical) goals and if that process proliferates into other aspects of the student's life they will be the wiser. Most of the world's best musicians will agree that their individual skill was not acquired easily but rather with discipline and patience. Such perseverance makes that skill more substantial. I want my students to take their time and enjoy the journey that is learning (specifically guitar), to take pride in themselves, and to know that they have a teacher who is present to guide and support them; a teacher who is on the same path to knowledge, only slightly ahead. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide a footstool and a music stand. I expect the student to provide two sturdy chairs: one for me and one for the student in a quiet room for study. I welcome any parents who wish to sit in and observe lessons as it may help in the supervision of the student's practice throughout the week.
