I was a School Nurse for 12 years. Though I did not hold a teaching credential, I did hold a credential for School Health Services, and part of my job was to conduct health lessons and health education at all grade levels and for all developmental levels including: preschool, severely handicapped students and adult students enrolled through Special Education. My mom was a bilingual special education teacher for 30+ years and I am very comfortable with this student population and their needs. I also operated after school programs which included tutoring and teaching health and other lessons to the whole family.
