Master the craft of songwriting with a real music industry professional

Having worked as a music publisher for over ten years, I have creatively managed professional, award-winning songwriters in several genres including pop, country, rock, Americana, and Christian / Gospel. Songwriters that I have worked with have garnered almost 50 #1 hit songs, and have won and been nominated for several Grammy's, CMA, ACM, and Dove Awards! Whether you see songwriting as a hobby, a passion, or your dream career, I will help you build a process that fits your skills, style, and personality, and is guaranteed to make you the best songwriter that you can be. We can also touch topics like marketing your music, booking gigs, and what publishers and music supervisors look for when they're seeking out new talent. I’m excited to work with you, and to help you unlock your full potential as a songwriter!

    About TC C.

I am a music publisher located on Music Row in the heart of Nashville, TN. The publisher I currently work for has garnered nearly 50 #1 songs in country, pop, and rock over the last eight years, and continues to land placements with world renowned artists and brands. My team of publishers creatively manage 20 staff songwriters by pitching songs for placement, scheduling co-writes, providing analysis and feedback of their songs, and providing professional creative direction for their career. Additionally, educating songwriters has always been a deep passion of mine. I believe deeply in the craft of songwriting, and also believe that everyone has a song inside of them, waiting to be written. In my lessons, you can expect to be encouraged by that belief, and to be challenged to create with passion, purpose, and excellence. I have taught songwriting for as long as I have been in music publishing (ten years), and have had male and female students ranging in age from 15 - 86. In our lessons, we will study and practice the fundamentals of what makes a hit song: structure and form, lyrical devices, melodic construction, theme and tone, marketability, and much more. I will assign proven techniques for growth in writing catchy melodies and impactful lyrics, and we will analyze the songs that you write as you build your catalog over the course of weeks, months, and even years. I will also help provide creative direction for those who are pursuing songwriting as a career, helping you understand the ins and outs of an ever-changing industry. We can discuss publishing companies and deals, royalties, networking practices, and other topics that will be relevant to those who dream of making songwriting their full-time job! No matter your experience, and no matter what your goals are, I guarantee our time together will make you a better songwriter!
