Hello! So nice to meet you! My name is Taylor and I currently serve as one of the worship leaders at Saddleback Church in Southern California. I am a music director, guitarist, keyboardist, singer, producer, and songwriter. As a guitarist, I have played since the age of 12 and started playing for live events shortly after. Over the past four years, I have toured, recorded professionally, and coached students. In addition, I have music directed and played lead guitar for multiple church conferences and events. My goal as your coach is to help you take your next steps towards your musical goals! Together, we'll develop a plan to make you not just a stronger guitarist, but a stronger musician. Let's do this! Styles I regularly teach include: Contemporary Christian Worship, Rock (Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative Rock, Hard Rock), Gospel, Punk, Pop, R&B, Blues, and Folk. ______________ Lesson Details Lead / Rhythm Guitar: A few of techniques I teach: ∙ basic chords ∙ pentatonic Scales and modes ∙ triads / arpeggios ∙ strumming ∙ alternate picking ∙ tremolo picking ∙ scales/modes ∙ slide guitar ∙ hammer on/pull off ∙ bends ∙ solo and riff Composition ∙ arpeggios & note groupings ∙ 3 and 4 finger per string scales ∙ fingerstyle ∙ chord melodies ∙ rhythm and grooves of various styles All students learn: Sight reading (standard notation/tablature) ∙ music theory & ear training ∙ Nashville Number System ∙ rhythm / timing (including reading rhythms) ∙ composition Half of the lesson will focus on co-selected material (I.E. the stuff you want to learn!) the other focuses on technique. We'll focus on the technical aspects with your material in mind. So come with ideas! :)
