Mr. Massey has previously served on the faculties of the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music, Augusta University, Claflin University, University of South Carolina in Aiken, and served as visiting instructor at Georgia Southern University. His principal instructors have been Alan Kay, Steven Cohen, Russell Dagon, and Ronald de Kant. He has received bass clarinet instruction from Ronald Aufmann of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and J. Lawrie Bloom of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Massey earned a bachelor’s degree in clarinet performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a master’s degree in clarinet performance from the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University.
