I graduated from Temple University in 2000 with a degree in music education with a concentration in cello and music technology.
I have taught cello and music theory privately for 20 years with great success. I have taught all different ages and levels of students. I have a studio in my home and I also travel to you if necessary. I am classically trained but I enjoy teaching contemporary music regularly to my students. I have the ability to arrange music from any genre for any instrument.
I am enthusiastic about the process of learning the cello and music theory. I love catering the journey to the needs of each individual student. I strive to figure out a student's true goals for music and help them obtain those goals.

Tara is very knowledgeable and patient. She guides me though my lessons do that I learn and feel good about my progress.
Tara is one of those teachers who is not only personally super talented in her own musical career, but also knows how to engage and inspire her students. My daughter learned so much from her and loved her as a teacher!!
my daughter took violin lessons with Tara for her final 2 years of elementary school, and also took cello lessons with her for about a year, and Tara did a great job holding my daughter to a high but manageable standard -my daughter really enjoyed her as a teacher!+ Read More
Tara is a gifted teacher who manages to keep lessons engaging and is responsive to student interests and questions while supporting strong basics in music theory, cello and posture awareness. She has also taught introductory ‘music play’ to my younger children and excels at that too. She is great!!!+ Read More
