I make learning Spanish fun for children. I studied Spanish language linguistics and culture via living abroad in Barcelona, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Peru. I also learned Portuguese after my Spanish was perfected. With a masters in linguistics, particularly, adult second language adquiscion, and bilingualism in children, I understand and have different academically tested approaches to teaching. A great deal has to do with my student, their exposure to the language, their interest in the culture. For children, comprehension is important. It's been shown that with children that learn to read Spanish, this translates into their English reading and comprehension skills. A good teacher must choose appropriate material that allows the child to read and comprehend! Adult approaches can be somewhat similar, utility and grammar and phonetics (the biggest struggle for most) are an easy highway to pass. Intermediate and advanced students must master their ability to understand different dialects, to understand and use colloquial phrases,  to speak of a variety of subjects that are most useful to their profession. I see many with a rush but for those who want to become completely fluent, native  like, the program I have is far more testing. Every client i have will be assigned some out of the class immersion and practice and I am also prepared with lesson plans, worksheets, and for certain visual  learners (majority), audio exercises, and pronunciation perfection.
