I coach children and young adults on acting for the camera and on stage. Likewise, I help develop the students confidence so they can also be comfortable with speaking in public in front of people and walking on the runway.
This certificate was granted to me upon graduation from high school in 2004. It is a scholarship that allowed me to go to college tuition and room board free for the four and a half years that I attended from January 2004- June 2010.
To invest in our communities, as well as ourselves, through: Volunteer service;
Advocacy and accountability; Leadership development and succession planning; Unity and collaboration; Engagement and empowerment; and Social responsibility and sisterly concern.
AmeriCorps engages more than 75,000 Americans in intensive service each year at nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and community and faith-based groups across the country.
AmeriCorps programs do more than move communities forward; they serve their members by creating jobs and providing pathways to opportunity for young people entering the workforce. AmeriCorps places thousands of young adults into intensive service positions where they learn valuable work skills, earn money for education, and develop an appreciation for citizenship.
To be honest I've never acted a day in my life before. Tamika was absolutely wonderful in helping me calm my (obvuously) nervous self, and worked with what I naturally brought to the stage and highlighted my own attributes. By the time I had opening night, I felt more comfortable than presenting to a bunch of investors (which is my day job). Thank you again Tamika, for really helping me develop skills and traits for the acting stage even I didn't know I had in me! I loom forward to working with you again soon!+ Read More
I was recently in a play titled “Why Does It Hurt So Bad?” with Tamika as an Artist Development teacher. She was extremely helpful when it came to knowing how to project your voice, emoting and becoming the character that you are portraying. Tamika was very professional and she always helped wherever she could. Tamika always gave great advice and how you can improve your craft as an actor. Everyone in the play took note of what Tamika was saying and applied it in the next rehearsal, getting better and better every time. This is the reason why the play was so successful. I will definitely keep in contact with her to keep perfecting my craft and to see if there’s a way that I can take acting lessons from her. Thank you so much Tamika. You’re AWESOME and so TALENTED!+ Read More
Tamika is very knowledgeable and professional. What I like most about her is how honest she is about your work and progress because that is difficult to find in a acting teacher.

Tamika is such a great instructor. She helped me break out of my comfort zone and worked with me to schedule lessons around my work schedule. I only got to be her student for a short period of time because school started back up, however, I would DEFINITELY recommend her to anyone who is interested in taking lessons with her. She will bring out the actress/actor in you you never knew was there!+ Read More
