Broadway Singing with Taelon S.

I am an singer, actor and teacher in Houston area. I have a BFA in Music Theatre from the University of Texas. Since I graduated, I have been teaching theatre and music both privately and in the public school system. I am also an active actor/singer. I have performed in two world premieres with Houston Grand Opera, as well as many other theatres in Houston, including Main Street Theater, Island ETC, the Ensemble Theatre, Obsidian Theatre, Stageworks, and many more. As a voice teacher, I have taught students of all ages. I assist in teaching music for All Region, and Solo & Ensemble. I have also assisted in designing pop shows for choir teachers, and then teaching pop and musical theatre solos to students. Many of my students have gotten 1's and gone all the way to State competition. I am an extremely versatile performer, having sung in operas, musicals, concerts and cabarets. My musical theatre background has helped me to learn how to sing in just about every style imaginable, including Broadway, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Pop, Country, Rock, and much more. In college and after, I won NATS music theatre division every year that I entered (5 in total). My focus in teaching is to make sure that every one of my students has a strong foundation of good singing technique to build on. I also place strong emphasis on delivery, making sure a singer can clearly deliver whatever message their song has to give.
