Piano Teacher with Psychology and Behavior Therapy background! Lessons with customized curriculums!

As a Piano Teacher, my goal is to create a learning environment that encourages individual progress and customized lessons for each student's learning style. While we learn music theory, technical skills, sight reading, ear training, and piano playing, it is all done with a touch of fun and interactive learning. As a Psychology major graduate, I worked as a Behavior Therapist allowing me to adapt lessons plans to all neurodiverse and neurotypical students, as well as work on encouraging music to be a great skill to learn for students with anxiety, stress, etc.

    About Swathi S.

When I started learning the piano at 10 years old, I was excited to learn a new skill and develop a fun hobby. As I began to explore more about piano, music, and theory, I discovered my passion to teach. To me, music is more than a hobby, it is an essential part of my life. I believe that each person connects with music on different levels, and through the piano classes, I hope to motivate and encourage that connection and creativity. Through Trinity College London, I completed a Certification in Music Theory. I am trained mostly in Classical music; however, I am also interested in and have practiced other music styles. I believe there is no substitution for practice and so I continue to play and build on my skills in piano. I also majored in Psychology at University of Maryland University College, and now I work as a Behavior Therapist in Applied Behavior Analysis in Mount Juliet, TN. I have taught piano in the past as a hobby, and am excited to transform that into a more professional approach. I have an individualized approach with each student that brings great results as I believe that learning should be fun and pressure-free. To find out more about my approach, the types of courses I offer or my background, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to give you more information.
