I am a very energetic and passionate teacher that loves to meet you at your interest and love of music which is all around us. My education started at a young age with private music education that continued and expanded into multiple teachers at a time and multiple instruments. As my education grew, so did my level of performance and experience with ensembles and venues at which I performed. Being instructed on teaching as a teenager and putting it into action, I was thrilled and ready for an expanded education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After this my performance venues and opportunities grew along with my private teaching studio (now including different styles of ensembles).
After switching gears and starting a family, I decided to advance my musical education, again, at Wright State University. Along with private music instruction, my teaching skills have expanded through jobs and opportunities such as being a substitute teacher's aid and the youth leader at our church. I enjoy teaching students of all ages, learning levels, and backgrounds. I am able to look at interests and needs and present a challenge with the right tools and music to accomplish the challenge. My mind never stops seeing, hearing, sharing, playing, and thinking about the music around us and how I can share it with others including you!
Both of my children have been taking lessons from Suzy for several years. They have done theory, piano, and voice. She does a wonderful job. Both of my children regularly play and sing at church. They both do a great job. I highly recommend Suzy.
