Born in South Korea, pianist Suji Lee began to play the piano at the age of 5. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in piano performance from Keimyung University in South Korea, and she came to New York to study under Mr. Phillip Kawin, graduating from the
Manhattan School of Music with Professional Studies. To pursue her passion for teaching, she also continued to study in Teachers College in Columbia University.
Ms. Lee has won the first prize both from Keimyung University Music Competition and the Concerto Competition by Daegu Symphony Orchestra. She also received the Best Teachers Award from Korea Radio Broadcasting in New York. Ms. Lee actively appears on numerous stages as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, and she is also a part of multiple ongoing concert projects: the Piano Chamber Music Series, the Sunday Afternoon Concert Series in the Tenafly Library and the Fort Lee Library, and the Saturday Concert Series in the Closter Library, Ridgewood Library, and many other places.
Ms. Lee is a director and founder of the Music Tree studio in Harrington Park and New City NY as well as a faculty member of the Cresskill Summer Music Program in Cresskill High School. Ms. Suji founded a non profit organization, “Pro Sono” in 2018 which grants monthly concerts to various nursing homes and hospitals and shares Ms. Suji's students’ talent and love with the community.

She is wonderful!!!! All my three kids played piano so I’ve experienced many teachers; but Ms. Suji is the best! She really teaches to the child and tries to give and get most from the child.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Suji for three years. In that time, she has learned to read music, has started to develop an understanding of the theory behind the music she is learning, and has become more comfortable performing in front of an audience. Ms. Suji is knowledgeable, flexible, and professional. I highly recommend Ms. Suji and Music Tree Piano Studio.+ Read More
