Ever wanted to play the violin but never had the chance to? Been struggling to keep up? Your time is precious. My teaching philosophy is not to spoon-feed you my knowledge. Instead, I will go out of my way to help you open the doors and show you the ways for you to walk your own path. And I will be here for you on every step of your way. Don’t play the violin to go to Juilliard. Play the violin to build discipline in your daily life. Play the violin to overcome your personal fears. You are about to become the best version of you. Take this opportunity as a gift.

About Strauss S.

I've enjoyed teaching my students of all levels from 7 to 35 to 75! Your age has absolutely no correlations to your level of determination and hard work. My student's time is equally, if not, more important than Elon Musk’s or Bill Gates’s. Nothing is more meaningful to me than encouraging my students to achieve their greatest potentials and seeing them progress. Each student possesses different abilities, and succeeds in their own ways, and at their own speed. A small, tiny progress to me is a major achievement in the bigger picture!

I've graduated Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School under Catherine Cho and my Master of Music from USC Thornton School of Music with Midori Goto and Pamela Frank.

I've performed in orchestras, chamber music, and soloist with the Utah Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Downey Symphony Orchestra, USC Thornton Symphony, CMS of Colombo, and has worked with conductors such as Vladimir Kulenovic, Carl St. Clair, Andrés Cárdenes, and Sharon Lavery. I've won top prizes including Gold Medal at the 3rd Berliner International Music Competition (2019), First Prize at the USC Thornton Concerto Competition (2018), Grand Prize at the Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition (2017), Second Prize at the inaugural Futian International Violin Competition (2016), among others.

Playing the violin is a journey of self-discovery. I’m telling you now that the light at the end of the tunnel is a better version of yourself. Most teacher teaches, but rarely does a teacher open doors for their students. Allow me to open the doors for you to a new you. My arms are wide open to all human beings... with love and compassion!
