I play violin for over forty years. First time I had a pleasure to listen Mr. Meloney playing violin I was very impressed so I asked if he can listen to one of my short violin piece. I realized, that he has a lot of knowledge in teaching. Mr. Steven is a genius violinist and professor.

My daughter was very frustrated by her previous instructor in Suzuki Method, a lady who could barely play the instrument except by rote. Mr. Maloney came in and radically changed the situation. He reassured us, he encouraged us and he inspired us. In a short time, my daughter had recovered her passion for music and started to play with a lovely sound and more importantly, a real understanding of music as a form of expression. He is such a wonderful player and teaches with great enthusiasm and meaningful examples.

I am honoured to give Mr. Maloney my very highest recommendation.

I must admit I was far from thrilled when I learned my son wanted to play the violin. I have a few buddies who's kids are learning the violin and they tell me it's just ear piercing screech after schreeching noises... Well they need to fire their teachers and hire my guy Steve! Just after a few months of lessons, Jr. is actually sounding pretty dam good and he's really loving playing the violin. If your son or daughter wants to learn the violin, Steve Maloney is the must have violin teacher

Steve constantly adjusted his teaching methods to accommodate my learning methods, busy school schedule, and personal music tastes. I found his teaching style to be relaxed, friendly, and varied. I recommend him especially to any students who might have anxiety or nerves about playing in front of a critical audience, as he's very welcoming and warm to all levels of skill and dedication, from casual students to pre-professional musicians.

Steve Maloney is a true master at both playing and teaching the violin. I have had some teachers in the past who were great players but lousy at teaching, but Steve is the Real Deal. My playing had immediately and significantly improved since my first lesson and only continues to improve. I had many deficiencies both technically and musically and Steve has provided me with practical solutions to rectify my once poor technique and bring out a much more refined musicality from my playing. I highly recommend Steve Maloney as violin instructor.

Before taking lessons from Steven I didn't know it was possible to enjoy practicing my violin. I enjoyed all my rehearsals and quartets of course, but when it came time to practice at home alone I lost all motivation. Steven opened my eyes to what it really meant and feels to be a musician, and in doing so I went from the back of the second violin section in the orchestra to the first few stands of the first violin section. Even other instructors and students at my music school noticed my improvement in technique and skill. Aside from becoming a much better violin player, Steven also helped me recognize my own potential and encouraged me to work hard; to believe in myself. Having Steven as my teacher was the best decision I've made throughout my musical career.

Steven was a godsend to my daughter all through high school. Not only did he help her become a more skilled and confident player, he also rekindled the joy of music in her. He is a great teacher. I recommend him without resevation.
