Hello! My name is Steve and I’m a professional musician, composer, and teacher from Brooklyn, NY. For 9 years I’ve taught acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and music theory in the Greater Boston area. I now teach out of my private studio in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. I also offer in-home and online lessons. My goal in teaching is to help students build confidence and find their voice in music. By developing strong technique, theory, and musicianship, students learn the skills needed to play with others, teach themselves new music, and pursue opportunities such as auditions and advanced music programs. Many of the teaching methods I employ are adapted from ones I learned while attending Berklee College of Music as well as my 15 years of private study. I'm interested in how music and sounds affect people and I challenge my students to pursue what moves them. My lessons focus on the individual goals and needs of each player. With 16 years of playing experience and 9 years of teaching experience I have helped students pass music school auditions, form successful bands, and create demos of original music, among other achievements.
