    About Steve K.

I'm is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. I've been teaching private music students since 1995. I've also developed and taught classes at both the high school and college level. As a Songwriter, Producer, and Recording Artist I recorded the single, The Friend of Africa - Steve Kercher and the African Children’s Choir, featuring legendary bassist, Abraham Laboriel, drummer, JR Robinson (Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones), and guitarist Marty Walsh (Supertramp). I also recorded the full-length album, Maiden Voyage. Both recordings are distributed through iTunes, Spotify, and other major digital music retailers and streaming services worldwide. I'm a John Lennon Songwiting Contest Finalist. I work hard to develop a curriculum for each student based on their needs and interests in music. Let's talk about your goals! “Steve has been teaching both of my children for almost three years. Steve is incredibly patient and the kids really enjoy the lessons (they work hard and laugh a lot!) . More importantly, though, Steve knows what he is doing and has great experience. He teaches technical concepts and theory while giving kids the freedom to choose songs and genres they enjoy most. Steve connects with kids and they respond to his enthusiasm by wanting to practice and wanting to progress. Steve fosters a love for all music which gets the kids excited to learn songs that might be outside of what they currently know. I would strongly recommend Steve to beginners, as well as advanced musicians.” Jennifer Kuhlman, Beverly MA
