    About Stephen D.

I am a professional singer/actor/educator in the Philadelphia area. I received bachelors of fine arts from Carnegie Mellon University and my Masters of Music at the University of Kansas where I started my professional career. I have traveled throughout America and Europe singing professionally. Some companies I have been fortunate to work for are: Opera Philadelphia, Bristol Riverside Theatre, The Walnut Street Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Opera, Kansas City Lyric Opera, Light Opera of Oklahoma, Candlelight Theatre, Chestnut Fine Arts Center, Festival-du-lyrique-en-mer to name a few. I was fortunate to originate the role of Jacob Hauser in The Invention of Edison written by John Gregor and toured throughout America performing that show. Recently I have been lucky to music direct for a performing arts high school and prep my students for college and professional gigs!

    Experience

    Music Director and Vocal Coach

    Jun, 2016 - Present

    Camden County Technical Schools

I am currently the music director and vocal coach for the Performing and Vocal Arts Academy at Camden County Technical Schools. I am lucky to work one on one with each student vocally preparing them for their role in the upcoming musical theatre productions as well as with the entire ensemble and small groups. While working one on one and in the groups we learn not only proper vocal technique but also then intention and understanding of the song and how to portray that to the audience. I have also been fortunate enough to have conducted the orchestra of a few of the productions as well.
