Singing with Stephanie N.

Stephanie is an award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist and educator, who has received an MA in Music Composition at Mills College, a BA in Music at Miami University, and a Certificate for audio and recording from The Recording Workshop. She is an active musician in the bay area and has performed with groups such as the Oak Wind Sax Quartet, Voci, Mills Performing Group, Willie Winant's Percussion Group, Portato Portato, and the Lauren Baines Dance/Theatre Company, while consistently gigging as a solo artist and working on collaborative projects throughout the bay area with fellow musicians and composers. She has studied with internationally known artists and composers Maggi Payne, Zeena Parkins, Fred Frith, and Willie Winant. Stephanie is a patient and dedicated teacher, who has taught music for over a decade, offering lessons on a variety of instruments including voice, ukulele, saxophone, clarinet, flute, conducting, music theory, composition, and piano. She brings a positive and comprehensive teaching approach to music lessons, shaped to accommodate and challenge all ages and levels of students.
