Ukulele with Stefanie S.

Since learning the clarinet at the age of 12 Stefanie has been a band geek, joining the high school marching and concert bands, playing tenor sax in the jazz band, and conducting the college Pep Band. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance on the clarinet at UCSD. Her background also includes the study of jazz saxophone, improvisation, and Brazilian music. Stefanie performs in her own Brazilian choro ensemble and samba drum groups among other local jazz and funk bands. Her love of Brazilian music and drumming has taken her on numerous trips to Brazil, including a recent six month musical odyssey to study and perform there. Stefanie was seen most recently on stage playing clarinet for Lamb’s Players Theatre’s Fiddler on the Roof. Stefanie’s breadth of experience allows her to teach a wide range of styles to students of all levels. She shares her passion for music while teaching with patience and positive reinforcement. She enjoys working with students to find what inspires them. In addition to private lessons, she offers group workshops including Beginning Jazz and Brazilian Samba Drumming.
