- Teaches students:
- Ages 5 to 15 and special needs
- Teaching since:
I am a writer, reader and lifelong student. I studied for my masters degree in Elementary Education at Hunter College and I taught French and several elementary grades at the Hewitt School in New York. I worked as a creative writing tutor at the 92nd Street Y Nursery School in New York and in the lower school library at Riverdale Country School in Riverdale, New York.
I have four children who I have spent countless hours tutoring and helped each one of them navigate a very rigorous education. I want to help other children with their school work so it is not a stressful experience for the student and his or her parents. I have learned most children want to do well in school and when they struggle it usually means they need to work more efficiently and not necessarily harder.
I have experience working with students with executive functioning and organizational issues and I have been known to play catch with a ball while teaching. Some students learn much better when they are active.
I am also an attorney who worked in several areas of the law but my favorite area of practice was Education Law and Custody cases since I am a passionate children's advocate.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals with as much fun as possible.
