These lessons are about you and your personal aspirations in music. Break into playing music for the first time or bust past that professional plateau. I will help you set realistic short-term goals that aim at whatever long-term goals you already have (of being a rock star, fluent improviser, early childhood song-leader, praise-band leader, rock star, songwriter, garage/basement/bedroom music troll . . . rock star). I teach beginners, professionals, and everyone in between. I hold a masters in music education, and have taught most styles of music, including (but never limited!) classic rock, new rock, pop rock, rockabilly, blues, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, Klezmer, solo acoustic, classical, and the Beatles (who get their own genre).

Spencer was a great instructor for me, as a young adult new to guitar. He was encouraging, flexible, and gave me lessons that were personalized to my skills and musical tastes, but also broadened my repertoire. Spencer transfers his genuine appreciation of music and extensive guitar knowledge through a versatile teaching approach to meet individual needs. He fosters a challenging and fun learning session.
