S.Marie Clay is a PhD student at Western Michigan University where she teaches advanced creative writing courses and serves as the editor in chief of Third Coast Literary Magazine. She was awarded the 2016 Herb Scott Award for excellence in poetry, and is a 6 time pushcart prize nominee. Her work has been featured in The Adroit Journal, The Journal, The Pedestal, Puerto Del Sol, Tupelo Quarterly, Juked, Eleven Eleven, Drunken Boat, Columbia Poetry Review, The Best of Kore Press and others.
Throughout my education, I have been an active volunteer, locally teaching at prison rehabilitation centers and medical care facilities in addition to teaching at Beadle Lake Elementary School, Columbia, Chicago, and Western Michigan University.
