Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

I teach in my lessons: repertoire (classical, pop, rock, blues, etc), music theory, sight reading, and ear training. Lessons are one hour long Monday through Friday, NOT Saturday and Sunday. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced are welcome. I am willing to do music theory lessons via skype, not piano lessons though.

Teaching since:

I am a professional classically trained pianist with a Bachelors degree in music from California State University of Sacramento. I have studied classical piano for 20 years and have been teaching for 10 years. I am also involved with other musical projects, such as playing in rock bands across California or doing session work. I am currently endorsed by Kurzweil Music Systems and Dave Smith Instruments.

I teach piano students of all levels from age 5 and up. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence (that would include technique/exercises), to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on student preference. Some of the musical styles I regularly teach include: Classical, Pop, Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, and Blues.
Though playing popular music is fun, I find that learning technique is essential to improve the ability of playing and also learning music theory gives a well rounded experience to all students playing music. I look forward to meeting you and giving you fun-filled and informative lessons!

Skyler relates well to my teen grandkids. They both love the lessons and are learning quickly.
