Piano Performance Major. Teaching experience of all ages.
Shuai began playing the piano at age of five. In 2001, she was admitted into Shenyang Conservatory of Music Attached Middle School. From 2003 to 2007, she also studied in the Master Class held by Rosemary Platt, a retired piano professor from Ohio State University. In 2012, Shuai received the Bachelor of Music degree at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has finished her Master of Music degree at University of Michigan.
She has participated some various kinds of piano competitions. In 2003, she won the first prize of adolescent Class A of Mozart Piano Competition in Hong Kong. In 2004, she received the Second Prize of China Audition in Wuhan of the 6th Annual Music Competition of Canada. In 2005, she won the first prize of the 69th Steinway International Children and Youth Piano Competition in the Northeast China Region. In 2013, She won the Sigma Alpha lota Competition in the Chautauqua Music Festival. In 2016, Shuai won the UMSO Concerto Competition and will be performing as a soloist with the UMD Symphony Orchestra in the 2017-2018 academic year.
Shuai has performed in a number of important concerts, including the Winner’s Concert in Hong Kong City Hall, the Commencement Recital for outstanding seniors at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Mozart Piano Concerto K.459 with Music School Festival Orchestra in Chautauqua Music Festival – conducted by Timothy Muffitt, Friday Noon Concert Feat at Arts Club of Washington D.C. and etc.
Now, she is pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at University of Maryland.
