I've been playing since I was 6 years old, so I understand the difficulty of learning drums, but it. doesn't have to be boring. I like to teach with the student's favorite songs, and break them down into simple levels. And as we learn new concepts we can play their song with a more complex rhythm, with more fills, and more dynamics. I don't like to start of teaching with notes as it can both boring and not really help develop technique. With songs, students automatically learn to stay on tempo, song structure, and how to apply the techniques they've just learned. As we get to intermediate playing I teach notes in a few lessons and then we move. onto more complex beats, rudiments, and genres. At an advanced playing stage we learn different playing styles, more rhythmically complex beats, rudiments, and fills. Also we learn to compose our own beats, and jam with other instruments and organize the rhythm of a song. It'll be a journey, and I'll make fun, I promise! I've volunteered over 300+ for special needs kids, and would love to teach your especially needed child! I'm very patient, and like working with kids and adults alike. Drumming is just way of self expression, and I hope to make it easy for my students to express themselves. I teach all genres: rock, metal, jazz, Bollywood, country, EDM, hip-hop, trap, etc. I'm very updated on current music trends, and would love to help students be well versed in multiple genres, and create a deep and personal musical taste.
