Master the Spanish Language with courses offered by a Bilingual instructor

Hello my name is Shirley. I was born & raised in Pennsylvania. I grew up in a bilingual family with my mom's side speaking Spanish (my mom's family is from Nicaragua) and my dad's side speaking English. I taught Spanish to elementary students (Pre-K through 8th grade) for about 6 years. Currently, I am teaching English as Second Language to adults. I love & I am passionate about teaching languages to people. I find languages, cultures & traditions to be fascinating. My Spanish lessons are engaging, interactive, and creative. As a Spanish teacher in private schools, I was expected to not only teach Spanish but also develop &/or help update the Spanish curriculum. I had very little resources therefore, I tend not to teach from a textbook. My lessons are unique because I love to bring my own experience & knowledge into my lessons. Furthermore, I take a lot of pride in making my lessons my own & ensuring they are adaptable to fit each of my students strengths & needs.

Hello! This is Shirley. I live in Pennsylvania. I studied Elementary Education at Carlow University. I also have two Master degrees: 1. in Early Childhood Education (from Carlow University) & 2. ESL program Specialist (from Duquesne University). I grew up in a bilingual family. My mom's family is from Nicaragua and speaks Spanish. I taught elementary (prek-8th grade) Spanish for about 6 years, as well as helping to fill other roles in the schools too. Prior to that, I was a substitute teacher for several schools. This provides me with experience teaching a broad range of subject material to children. I value working with children to help them reach their learning potential. Sometimes, they just need a different or a more personalized approach. Currently, I am teaching English as Second Language to adults. I love being able to personalize my lessons to engage my students & to ensure it fits each of my students strengths & needs. Additionally, I love sharing & integrating my personal experience & knowledge about countries in Central America & Europe into my lessons. I love & am passionate about teaching languages to people.

Shirley is an outstanding teacher and person! As a former teaching colleague, I observed first-hand her creative and innovative Spanish lessons, as well as her enthusiastic and caring rapport with her students. She made learning Spanish a fun experience that students loved! I would highly recommend Shirley for any teaching position!

Shirley is remarkable! She has a keen ability to hone in on skills that students may struggle with, allowing them to challenge themselves. You can tell that she loves what she does! She wants all of her students to succeed, and does all that she can to make this happen.
