    About Shirine B.

I am a classically trained actress with a MA in Acting from East 15 conservatory in London and a MFA from the The Old Globe PTAP in San Diego. I also have a BFA in musical Theatre, so I have experience in working on musical text. I've been fortunate to be in this industry for more than 25 years with experience on TV, Broadway, Off-Broadway and Regional Theatre. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, teaching Acting for Musical Theatre Students. The approach with my students is to enjoy the process and be specific with their choices. Really knowing what the character wants will give them the freedom to be their authentic self thus making unique choices that are truthful to who they are. My students can look forward to me asking the hard questions and supporting their choices. Recently as a professional, I was in the Original Broadway cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as the Hermione u/s and Ensemble. Since then, I've been in Bedlam's Crucible, Theatre For A New Audience's and Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of Timon of Athens featuring Kathryn Hunter. Ms. Hunter is one of several well know actors I've had the pleasure working with. In performing with the likes of Sir Derek Jacobi, Ethan Hawke and such, I've learned valuable lessons that I look forward to passing on to my new students. I frequently work with high school and college based individuals, but I'm also open to middle school students based on my experience working with 10-15 year old age group at Black Spectrum Theatre co., as an Assistant Artistic Director. My personal passion is Shakespeare and classical text but I believe strong technique can help in any medium. I look forward to sharing my passion and joy with you.
