Hi there, I'm Shira! For as long as I can remember, I've been singing, writing songs, and acting. At the age of 19, I left my home in LA to pursue my passions professionally, here in NYC! 4 years ago, I began teaching when some friends of mine asked me to help them find their singing voices... and ever since then, I've fallen in love with the art of helping people learn to sing in a healthy, fun, and intuitive way! I believe that everyone is capable of making improvements in their singing. Each student has their own unique spark, humanity, and set of experiences and my goal is always to create a lesson that specifically targets each student's needs - whether they'd like to work on vocal technique or growing more comfortable and expressive on the stage. My experience as a life-long performer has allowed me to recognize where a singer is at on their journey and meet them where they are - always with patience, encouragement, and practical guidance. My studies with Justin Stoney in his New York Voice Teacher Training Program brought my teaching to new heights by solidifying my understanding of vocal anatomy, technique, and health, as well as storytelling through song. So in every given lesson, my students can expect to build their skills and learn to sing with a healthy, sustainable technique... all while reveling in the joy of making music! As a teacher, I love to empower people by helping them free up their voices. I seek to inspire others through the power of singing, and watch them discover their unique gifts.
