This is a great opportunity for me to give back a portion of what I have earned working as a film composer over the last 23 years in Los Angeles, California. What I’ve learned through this process is nothing that a textbook can offer. The countless hours of meticulously maneuvering and executing through this “business “is something only one can learn from experience. I’m absolutely enthusiastic at the thought of handing this experience down to a well-deserved community of Berklee School of Music students. I have had a multi-faceted career as a composer in a variety of genres and styles. As a songwriter, producer, performer and engineer, I have written over 25,000 pieces of music, which have been heard on more than 300 projects. I have been nominated over the years for many awards, most notably for my work on QUANTUM QUEST (performed by the San Francisco Philharmonic and recorded at Skywalker Ranch), which was nominated for Hollywood Music in Media Awards’ Best Score, and won a Global Music Award. In 2011, I was commissioned to write the orchestral, The Warrior’s Hymn for The Tribute for Wounded Warriors. It premiered at the Kennedy Center by a 106 member orchestra, 247 member choir, and was sung by Jon Anderson of YES. That piece was later recorded in the studio with Robin Zander of Cheap Trick on vocals, Jack Douglas producing, Warren Huart mixing, Bob Ludwig mastering, a 40-piece choir and the Skywalker Symphony.
