Hello! My name is Shawn. I am a 38 year old professional teacher, performer, studio musician, writer, athlete, and mentor. I direct the music program at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, CA where I see 115 students on a daily basis and teach classes in winds, brass, percussion, jazz, songwriting, production, music theory, ear training, jazz improvisation, and most importantly, how to make your skills get you into college!. This is the start the start of my 10th year at Harvard-Westlake and I love it more every year. Additionally, I am the director of jazz studies at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, CA. We boast such alums as President Obama and Ben Affleck! I have joined Take Lessons so that I can expand my horizons and offer my talents and skill to a broader student base in the Los Angeles area. Once I take you under my wing, I am your mentor. We will customize our lessons to your learning style and academic needs and we will aim for excellence!
